House Medic was our first company.  It started doing handyman projects for friends and family.  House Medic was founded in 1996 in Summerfield, North Carolina.  Our business grew which created a need for Batts Builders to begin.

Batts Builders was established in the beginning of 1998.  When we first started our construction company we were doing small projects and a few remodeling jobs to get our feet wet.  We grew from these small projects to completing whole house remodeling jobs and one of a kind custom homes.

Our emphasis has been growing toward energy efficient building for the past ten years.  The first project we did was quite an endeavor.  It’s challenges inspired us to want to learn more about this industry.

To learn about the rapidly changing energy industry we began taking courses with EEBA (Energy Efficient Building Association) and Advanced Energy.  Advanced Energy is a non-profit organization that was started by the Government of North Carolina.  This organization compiled the research on the advantages of the closed crawlspace system.  We have implemented this type of system on a number of our projects.

We try to complete all of our projects to comply to Energy Star standards when at all possible.  We believe it’s the best money you can spend; money spent to make your home healthier, more comfortable and energy efficient.
